BCGC Head Professional Alan McCloskey has become the first winner of the PGA Bob Torrance Coach of the Year award. Alan was presented with the award by Sam Torrance and Stephen Gallacher at the SGU Awards Gala in Edinburgh last Friday evening.

Alan wins the award in recognition of the success he has had in the last year with the likes of Stephen Gallagher, a member of the victorious Ryder Cup Team and Mark Warren who is now on the verge of the top fifty in the World Golf Rankings. Stephen retained the Dubai Desert Classic Trophy in 2014 while Mark was also a European Tour winner at the Made in Denmark tournament. He also coaches a number of other players on the European, Challenge and other satellite tours.

Alan is also passionate about coaching at a junior level through the YMG Junior Golf Programme for boys and girls aged 6 to 13 years old which he undertakes at Bothwell Castle Golf Club.
