Juniors qualify for Scottish Final at Gleneagles

  • 12 October 2015
The Bothwell Castle GC Junior Team won their Scottish Junior Inter-Club semi-final at Pumpherston GC on Saturday. This is the first time a Lanarkshire team has secured a place in the Scottish Junior Inter-Club Championship finals.

In doing so they beat Kilmarnock Barassie and Haggs Castle into 2nd and 3rd place respectively, as well as teams from Lundin Links and Drumpelier.

They will now represent the Club in the final to be held at the Kings Course at Gleneagles on Sunday 25th October where they will be up against Murrayfield (Edinburgh), Kilmarnock Barassie (Ayrshire) and Uphall (West Lothian).

The Scottish Team winners and runners up on the day qualify to represent Scotland at the Home Nations Inter-Club Championship where they will compete against 6 teams from England, Ireland and Wales over a week of competition in Antequera in Spain.

The team had secured a place in the semi-final through being the leading points scorer in the Lanarkshire League and then winning their regional quarter final at Dalmahoy.

Good Luck to the team and if you can, go along and support them all on the 25th at Gleneagles.
