Social Information
The cabaret night in April was a great success. Bill Barclay’s comedy was outstandingly good and the duo, Colours, who worked with him were very well received. All the comments about the evening were very positive. Everybody enjoyed a nice light-hearted and fun evening’s entertainment.
The next big social event during the golf season is Ladies Day on Saturday 7 Jun. There is Mixed Foursomes golf during the day. The Ladies Committee organise the golf. Please speak to any member of the Ladies Committee for more details.
In the evening there is live music from the trio, ‘Timeless’, in the clubhouse from 8.30 until midnight. All members are welcome to come up and join in the socialising part of the day. There is no charge, no tickets -- just turn up. You can be very organised and book a table for a meal, or just pop in at any time. If you’ve played golf you might be happy just to stay on for the night’s entertainment. A relaxed evening is guaranteed!!
We always book top class music and entertainment for Bothwell Castle and the next big Cabaret Show is on Friday 10 October. The star at this cabaret is Scotland’s top entertainer DEAN PARK. Tickets will go on sale during September. Look out for information in the clubhouse. When Dean has entertained us before it has been a total sell-out. The evening will be a mix of music, comedy, and Dean’s fantastic singing.
Note the dates for the Christmas Dance and the Annual Dance.
The Christmas Dance is on Saturday 13 December. The Annual ‘Black Tie’ Dance is on Saturday 31 January.
The band for the Annual Dance is ‘Washington Street.’ This 4 piece band played for us at the 2007 Christmas Dance. Everybody thought they were excellent, and will be delighted we have been able to get them back for the Annual Dance.
The Hogmanay Party will, as you might imagine, be on Hogmanay – Wednesday 31 December. A great night. Just a perfect way to bring in the New Year.
More information about events is always available from any member of the Social Committee. Tickets are usually on sale about 1 month beforehand.
A new event this year will be the Golf Rules Quiz Night. This has been arranged for Wednesday 22 October. Note the date and spend the season swotting up the rules.
(Updated 10th April 2008)
Cabaret Night 12th April - Still a few tickets left
