Paul O’Hara wins 34th Annual Bothwell Pro-Am
Paul O'Hara (North Lanarkshire Leisure) goes one better than last year as he wins the Bothwell Castle GC Pro-Am professional prize by 2 shots. The team prize was won by Bothwell Juniors with our own professional Alan McCloskey.
In a reversal of last year's result, Paul's score of 63 brought him out on top ahead of last years winner Paul McKechnie(Braid Hills) who this time had to make do with 2nd place with a score of 65. Third place went to Graham Fox(Clydeway Golf) with a score of 66.
In the team competition, youth and local knowledge won out on the day with our Junior Team (pictured above - Calum Waugh, PGA Professional – Alan McCloskey, Mark Griffin & Ross Paterson) returning a tremendous card of 53 (-17).
Forty sponsored teams enjoyed a round of golf accompanied by a Scottish PGA Professional golfer. Along with the competitive side of the game, some fun was had on the 8th hole in a Beat the Pro Challenge raising money for our charity.
Proceeds from this year’s Pro-Am activities are going to Maggie’s – locally at Monklands Hospital – this charity assists those diagnosed with cancer and their families, offering free practical, emotional and social support.
