Record 4th consecutive win on Club Finals Day
The Earl of Home Trophy awarded to the Club's Champion Golfer was again this year won by Colin Baird, making it five wins in the last six years. In doing so, he also became the first person in the history of the club to win the trophy four years in a row.
The 36 hole Gents Final saw Colin up against Kieran Muldoon who was in his first final. With a good lead at half way following a round of 66, Colin increased his lead at the first hole in the afternoon. However, Kieran produced a spirited fightback winning three holes in a row but further solid play and a birdie at the 30th hole secured the title for Colin.
The Ladies Final saw Amy McDonald taking on last year's winner Eva O'Connor. In a very closely matched game which went to 18th hole it was Amy that secured her first Lady Champion's title.
The Senior Final between last year's beaten finalist Alex Gray and George Waterston was also a very close match. Early on George had a 2 hole lead but was pegged back by Alex who eventually won the match 2 & 1.
In the two Junior Finals, the Class 1 (max handicap 12) Final over 36 holes was won with some very good golf by Liam Martin who defeated Mitchell Wilson who was also runner up in last year's competition. The 2nd Class (13 to 28 handicap) Final saw Calum Griffin go one better than last year by beating Callum Lingie.
Once again a big thank you to all those who assisted in refereeing the matches and those who came to support the players on the day.
