Scott MacPherson is Lanarkshire Boys Matchplay Champion

  • 26 July 2017
Having qualified for the matchplay stage in the Lanarkshire Boys Strokeplay Championship at ColvillePark, Scott MacPherson of Bothwell Castle GC beat Allan Woodhouse of East Kilbride in the final defeating him on the last hole. Earlier in the week he beat Jack Emerson and Kieran McAllister in the quarter and semi-finals.

Scott qualified for the top eight matchplay stage after rounds of 77 and 73, in 5th place. After being 3 down at one stage in the final, Scott performed outstandingly in the latter stages of the match to secure the win against Allan Woodhouse, who only a few weeks ago won the West of Scotland Boys Championship.  Earlier this month Scott won the scratch prize at the Bothwell Castle Boys Open.

The stroke play Championship was won by Lewis Irvine of Kirkhill with Craig O'Hara last year's winner in second place
