Seniors win County League Trophy for 1st time in 18 years
In a nail biting final against Wishaw at Hamilton, the Bothwell Senior Gents team were victorious by the slender margin of 3 matches to 2, with the last game going to the final put on the 18th hole.
After a weeks delay due to heavy rain the final was played on the 15th of September. Bothwell were only victorious when Ian Reid held his nerve to hole out on the 18th green, to win the last match and thereby give Bothwell their first win since 1998, and only their 2nd win ever in the competition.
To get to the final Bothwell won their county league section (competition split into 4 leagues) thereby qualifying for a semi-final against fellow section winners Hollanbush at Hamilton, where they made it to the final with a 3/2 win.
